I was asked to write a new song on the spur of the moment for a 5th grade promotion. I used John Riggio's "Christmas Lights" IP track (from Music K-8, Vol. 14, No. 2) and wrote the following words. Our students really like it.
Memories 2010 Music ("Christmas Lights" by John Riggio; Words by Russell Davis)
Verse 1: Memories, thinking of this past year. I can see pictures in my mind. Times we've shared, good and bad together, we made it through. Soon we'll have to part.
Refrain: Memories, beautiful, friendships never end, when you are true friends with memories, wonderful, of friends and days of laughter, love forever after memories.
Verse 2: Memories, field trips we have taken and things we've learned from teachers and each other. Memories games and fun together, we've made it through, now we're moving on.
