Large Pins With Pony Beads

Our district has "Peripole" recorders for each 4th-6th grader. These recorders look and sound great... but best of all come with a "halo" or neck strap.

For recorder belts, my students each had a large gold pin clipped onto their neck strap. They earned beads for each level - pony beads that fit onto the pin. It was easy for them to put on and looked great with the beads stacked up in order. They loved it and got to take their pin/beads home at the end.

If you use this idea, make sure nine beads (or however many) fit onto your pin. For the next levels (degrees of black belt), use shiny or fluorescent pins!
