When I'm testing for belts, I use the partner plan. Everyone is paired up according to the belt they're working on. Partners change every week, so no one gets stuck with the same partner.

I allow four kids in line at my desk at a time. When I need quiet to call the next four, I ring my gong. If you continue to play past the gong, you are in danger of losing your chance to test that day. They have gotten really good at quieting down quickly.

I keep my belts in a small, three-drawer organizer. I can fit three colors in each drawer. When I run low, I have my chorus presidents cut more belts.
