Choreography: "I Like To Sing (Scat)" from Music K-8, Vol. 12, No. 4
I like to sing part:
M9 = Put both thumbs on your chest.
M10 = With open jazz hands (fingers spread), each hand makes a circle in the opposite direction.
M11 & M12 = Repeat the same motions.
M13 = Both thumbs on your chest
M14 = With open jazz hands, move hands together to the left shoulder, right shoulder, and back to the left shoulder (U-shape motion). Hands should move the rhythm of the lyrics.
M15 = Thumbs on chest
M16 = With open jazz hands, each hand makes a circle in the opposite direction (start at the chest and go out and end back at the chest).
M17 = With the left hand make an arc. Hand will start above the head and come down to the waist.
M18 = Make an arc in the same way with the right hand.
M19 & M20 = Both hands make an arc (in opposite directions).
M21 = Left hand arc
M22 = Right hand arc
M23 = Both thumbs on chest
M24 = With open jazz hands, move hands together to the left shoulder, right shoulder, and back to the left shoulder (same movement as M14).
M25 = Both thumbs on chest
M26 = With open jazz hands, each hand makes a circle in the opposite direction (start at the chest).
M27 = Both thumbs on chest
M28 = With open jazz hands, each makes a circle in the opposite direction.
M29 = Both thumbs on chest
M30 = With open jazz hands make the u-shape motions (same as M14)
M31 = Both thumbs on chest
M32 (first ending) = Open jazz hands, each hand makes a circle in the opposite direction.
Scatting part:
M9 = Both thumbs on chest
M10 = Traveling arms (roll arms over each other like a referee does in basketball to call a travel ball)
M11 = Both thumbs on chest
M12 = With open jazz hands, raise hands above your head; on count 1 & 2 lower hands down to chest level; on counts 3 & 4 put jazz hands facing down (fingertips pointing to your feet); swing hands back and forth (in rhythm, titi ta)
M13 = Both thumbs on chest
M14 = With open jazz, hands move hands together (u-shape) to the left shoulder, right shoulder, left shoulder.
M15 = Both thumbs on chest
M16 = Pretend that you're holding drum sticks in your hands and play air drums to the rhythm of the words (above your head).
M17 = Pulse jazz hands up and down above your head, towards your left shoulder.
M18 = Pulse jazz hands up and down above your head, towards your right shoulder.
M19 = Pulse jazz hands up and down above your head, towards your left shoulder.
M20 = Pulse jazz hands up and down above your head, towards your right shoulder. On the spoken part, hands will be above your head; sway them to the left and back to the right (move them with the words).
M21 = With open jazz hands above your head and move them down to chest level.
M22, M23, M24 = Open jazz hands at shoulder level and wiggle them (shimmy).
M25 = Both thumbs on chest
M26 = Traveling arms
M27 = Both thumbs on chest
M28 = With open jazz hands; raise hands above your head; on count 1 & 2 lower hands down to chest level; on counts 3 & 4 put jazz hands facing down (fingertips pointing to your feet), swing hands back and forth (in rhythm, titi ta)
M29 = Both thumbs on chest
M30 = With open jazz hands, move hands together (u-shape) to the left shoulder, right shoulder, left shoulder.
M31 = Both thumbs on chest
M32 = Pretend that you're holding drum sticks in your hands and play air drums to the rhythm of the words (above your head).
M34 to the end = Movements are the same as before for each part.
On the final note, put hands up in the air above your head.
