I took my class of "outcasts" over to the Purchasing Department for a "drive-by tooting" today! We performed a couple pieces, including a tone chime piece for the purchasing staff to thank them for equipping our new music room so richly. It touched their hearts. My students were so well mannered; I was impressed (and surprised, for that matter)!
I have found that it is great PR to get those students out and play for administrators and other staff employees. They need to know the wonderful things we do with our kids.
