Yulekulele

A marriage of "yule" and "ukulele," this holiday tune gives you a chance to feature your singers and your beginning ukulele players. Set in a retro pop style, complete with bari sax and high strings, it's fairly easy to learn and remember. The biggest challenge might be remembering whether it's "yule time" or "yuletide" as those occur. Make sure singers add a strong "l" to the "yule" when they sing "yulekulele," too.

There is an optional second vocal part that enters at the bridge (measure 17), staying in from then on. There are also optional claps which are indicated on the music. If you use these, obviously they would be done by students who are not playing ukuleles.

Speaking of which – there are three chords to know for this piece: C, F, and G. The ukulele part indicates suggested rhythms, but if you look at the bottom of the first page of the score, you will see options that might be better for your players. Do what works for you.
