Bucket Of Bones

by Teresa Jennings and Paul Jennings

This somewhat spooky sounding novelty piece is a terrific opportunity for you to feature a number of nonpitched percussion instruments in the classroom or in a performance. No singing required! We start with buckets as our foundation, adding rhythm sticks to the overall groove. The cool (and easier) part, though, is the "bucket of bones," played by a large shaker combined with other rattling/shaking/clunking instruments like maracas, shells, cowbell, and so forth. (from Music K-8, Vol. 32, No. 1)
