Fly A Kite

by John Riggio

This uplifting tune might just inspire you to go outside and fly a kite! It's a great song for National Kite Month (April) or for your spring performance. The vocal line is straight forward, especially if you use the recording as a guide. Part 2 is optional. The recording uses wind sound effects and wind chimes (mark tree) to simulate the conditions for kite flying.

In live performance, kites could be used as props. If you want to take it further, consider adding movement. The kit includes a movement suggestion video from choreographer, Melissa Schott. (from Music K-8, Vol. 23, No. 4)
