Variations On A Tragic Barnyard Air

"Go Tell Aunt Rhody"

From the Recorder Method Energizer Series

That old American folk song, "Go Tell Aunt Rhody" is not exactly a happy tune, but we thought it would be a good tune to "energize" and to use in your recorder classes. It also struck us that it would be a good song for the study of the form "theme and variations." Be sure to listen to our excellent recording and discuss what your students hear in each variation. (from Recorder Classroom, Vol. 1, No. 3)

This song is from the Recorder Method Energizer series. This innovative series takes the tunes that end up in many methods and breathes some new life into them with cool arrangements that fit the notation in most methods. The students play the song from their method, and the arrangement makes it sound great! In addition, each song features teaching ideas to make the most of the time spent with that tune.
