This Thing I Want So Badly

adapted/arr. Karl Hitzemann

Here we have silly lyrics set to a famous classical piece, namely Dvořák's "Humoresque No. 7." Our story begins with our young protagonist wanting something that's too expensive. Mom and Dad won't pay for it but suggest earning the money by doing chores. Once the the earnings have built up, our young friend discovers it would be better to save the money instead of spending it all. An important lesson learned!

The great thing about this piece is that you can have a lot of fun and silliness singing it, but the accompaniment track itself is a very legitimate rendition of Dvořák's piece. So, you can also use this as an excellent classical music lesson. (from Music K-8, Vol. 31, No. 5)
