Simple Gifts

Starting as a Shaker dance song, the great American composer Aaron Copland used this tune in his Appalachian Spring ballet written for Martha Graham's dance troupe in 1944. Full of contrasts, our arrangement features soprano recorder 1 (D,F#,G,A,B,C,D'), an optional easier soprano 2 (D,G,A,B), and an alto recorder part suitable for a young player (G,A,C,D,E,G').
