Plant A Tree

by Teresa Jennings and Paul Jennings

This lively Latin jazz piece can be used for Earth Day, Arbor Day, or spring. And because it's got a few sections dedicated to movement, you could use it just to sing and move. Easy-to-perform movement is indicated on the music.

The song is a bright samba in cut-time, and the lyrics are easy to learn. Part 2 is optional, though it is simple and logical, and we're betting your students will want to give it a try. (from Music K-8, Vol. 9, No. 4)
