Ere The Waters Of The Deep

by Teresa Jennings

Reminiscent of an olde English or Celtic folk song set in Dorian mode, this tune has a bit of melancholy to it. It speaks of a yearning for the sea, while implying a bittersweet connection. It could even be used to commemorate seafaring events or incidences, particularly tragic and/or historic ones. If you use it this way, be sure to share its cross curricular value for the reinforcement of historical lesson plans.

The kit includes rehearsal tracks for part 2 (optional), as well as a unison version. (from Music K-8, Vol. 22, No. 4)
