A Bleezbot Holiday Fantasy For Young Voices

Imagine your young ones dressing, talking, and singing like Martians! This out-of-this-world musical is loaded with fun and great music. It can be performed with groups of almost any size. While its plot is sheer fantasy, it provides the perfect springboard into more in-depth units on our Mars exploration and discussions of the morals found in the musical. Here's a good opportunity for other classroom teachers in your school to join you in preparing for a performance of this holiday musical.

While decorating their school for Christmas, a group of local elementary school students are interrupted by a surprise visit from a band of Martians and their dog, Rover. The Martians' curiosity gets the better of them as they observe the strange holiday rituals of the Earthlings. They ask many questions, which the students are more than happy to answer. But they are particularly intrigued by the singing, which the students first demonstrate, then teach. Just as the fledgling friendships are developing, the commander of the Martian spaceship, Darph Meanie, enters. He is angry that the Martians have not freeze dried the Earthlings. Upon further investigation, we learn that the Martians stopped at Earth to take some snow, which fuels their spaceship. To the surprise of the Martians, the students offer the snow freely to them. They accept and all is well. The students and the Martians join together to celebrate the very first Martian Christmas.

As with all of Teresa's musicals, it carries a valuable message - about sharing - and comes with everything you will need to produce a memorable performance. It features five appealing songs:
