Question: My school is having Science Night, which is a sort of PTA night, to invite parents/students. It involves each grade level hosting a series of "centers" or "stations" which will demonstrate or otherwise explore a scientific concept. I would like your great ideas and suggestions for possible activities for Music/Science.
Answer: One thing I have done when I'm teaching the Science of Sound is to have the students make "telephones" using plastic cups and string. I have them make them using different thicknesses of string and evaluate which materials conduct the vibrations the best. It's also a fun activity for the students.
