Repairing Percussion Mallets

I know some percussionists use old pairs of nylons to wrap on felt mallets. You just stick the mallet head into the toe part of the nylons (make sure there are no holes in the toe part). Then, pull snug and twist a couple of times. Use a rubber band to keep it tight. Cut the excess nylon, and now your mallet is as good as new.
