I do a parachute unit once a year with my younger grades and use the song from the '60s called "Sugar Shack." It has easily recognizable eight-beat phrases that, as we count, we...

raise,

lower,

raise,

lower,

go under and sit on the chute,

hold it there,

come out,

hold to the floor,

do it all over again.

It looks like a little "sugar shack" when we are holding and sitting under the parachute counting. I love to use this to reinforce counting!
