Zoo Plates: Students Create Song

Just want to share an idea for using zoo pals. I had the kids K & 1 grade sit in a circle and handed out a different plate to everyone. Each child figured out what animal they had, where it was, and what it did. Here are a few responses form the kids...

Use the melody of "The Wheels On The Bus."
The pig on the farm rolls in the mud, in the mud, in the mud,

The fish in the pond goes glub glub glub, glub glub glub, glub glub glub,
The fish in the pond goes glub glub glub, all day long.
The owl in the tree goes hoo hoo hoo, hoo hoo hoo, hoo hoo hoo,

Let the kids be the creator of what their animals do. After this, you could have the kids create movements, too.
