My 5th graders loved Masters In This Hall. I added plastic candles as a prop. As the song begins with the beautiful flute, the students entered slowly from both sides of the stage to their places on the risers.

During the 'thrum, thrum' sound, they did two, light step touches left and two right. The students stood still to sing the verses. During the "Nowell" chorus, students placed the backs of their hands to touch across the line and then moved their hands up for three counts and down for three counts. Then, they did the step touches again between verses. At the end of the piece, with their candles in front of them, the students separately sang the solo parts: one solo was all of the girls, and one solo was all of the boys. The whole group sang the final, "Merry Christmas Day" and brought their heads down slowly. The lights were turned out at the end. The effect was amazing!
