I have found that this works well with my middle schoolers:

C - Challenge yourself to become a distinguished musician.

H - Honor instructional time.

O - Optimize your opportunities for performance.

R - Respect everyone.

U - Undertake all classroom activities.

S - Sing properly & purposefully.
