Sitting on Knees to Keep Kids Focused

I have students sit on assigned stripes on the classroom floor. Since I want them to learn the songs before becoming too active and "bustin' some moves," I have them get on their knees to sing. That gives them some freedom to move and use their bodies while still paying attention. After they know the songs enough to keep singing while dancing, I have the students stand and show their stuff!
