When It's Time To Say Goodbye

Here is a short, driving rock ballad for all ages. Its message helps lend perspective to occasions in life when we are faced with saying goodbye. Though it is ideally suitable for use as an end of the year send off, it may also be used to help your students deal with a more profound loss, perhaps in the school, community, or nation.

It uses a simple unison melody, with an optional divisi on the last note as well as a chance for one of your star students to shine on the solo. Your soloist may follow our example (sung by Shelbie Phillips) or you may allow your more adventurous singer to ad lib. Or, to include more singers, you might assemble a small group to sing it as a descant.
