Hanukkah Festival

by Teresa Jennings

HANUKKAH FESTIVAL is a song that was written in response to a plea from several teachers who wanted to have a Hanukkah song in a correctly traditional major key (rather than the usual minor mode). It celebrates Hanukkah in a very upbeat, rollicking 3/4 feel. While it was written as a round, you can sing it unison if you prefer, or even turn it into a 3-part round, starting the 3rd part entrance two measures later than the 2nd part starts. For a little extra spice, add tambourine on beat 1 on each measure until m. 21., then use triangle.
