THANKSGIVING DAY is meant to be very simple, reflective and straightforward. It is a secular song about Thanksgiving, which has absolutely nothing to do with Pilgrims, turkeys, football, parades, or the beginning of the Christmas season.
The only accompaniment necessary is a piano, though even that can be optional. We have included a recorder obbligato both on the teacher's manuscript and as a separate part for ease of duplication. You can treat it as a solo obbligato, or use several recorders along with several voices.
The optional Performance/Accompaniment Cassette has a tuning note at the beginning of the accompaniment side to facilitate tuning your recorders. There is also a quiet count-off so that the recorders can enter easily with the piano.
